De clutter your life
I know that some of you must know the
meaning of de clutter but there might be some who are thinking that what does
that mean? So let me start writing by telling you the meaning of de clutter. De
clutter simply means “to remove the unnecessary items from a place”. Now the
biggest question is how we can de clutter our lives? I’ll tell you the answer
based on my personal experiences. I started de cluttering my life few years ago
and believe me my life has become better and more beautiful since then. I de
clutter my life on three levels and there is no hierarchy in these levels. In
fact I de clutter my life on the three levels simultaneously and yes it is not
at all difficult. Let us start with the first level.
The first level of de cluttering is
removing all the unnecessary things from your home and work place. I have seen
that in many homes there are many things that are just lying there without
being used getting wrapped under the piles of dust, disturbing the beauty of
the house. But we are so emotionally attached to them that we just can’t let
them go. I’ll share my experience with you. I was so attached to my childhood
toys that I never let my mother gave them to others even after I grew up. The
toys were occupying a good space in my cupboard. They were of no use to me and
I even didn’t use to see them. They were just lying there. But when I decided
to start de cluttering my life, the first thing I did was to give away those
toys in an orphanage and the joy that I got from it, is something that cannot
be expressed in words. And gradually I started de cluttering all the other
unused things, making space for good things. Then there are some things which
are of no use but can be used with little refurbishing and I know some very
talented people who are very good at it. They can create something very
beautiful like decorative pieces and useful like new furniture from the old
items. Whether you get rid of the unnecessary things or make new things by
refurbishing them the whole point is to get rid of the unused, unnecessary
things. Remember, unless and until we don’t get rid of unnecessary things, we
cannot make space for the necessary things. So just de clutter your homes and
work places.
The second level of de cluttering is
removing all the negative thoughts from your mind. Stop doubting about your
potential and start believing in you. Stop finding faults in others and start
finding at least one good thing in everyone. Stop criticizing others for not matching
up to your expectations and start appreciating them for their efforts. Make a
habit of reading good things and feed your mind with all the positivity.
Indulge yourself in learning something new and spend your time constructively.
Try to be busy in doing something meaningful rather than sitting idle and
letting your mind think something negative. And now sharing my experience, I
started de cluttering my mind by reading good things and now reading has become
an inseparable part of my life. I even don’t listen to the sad songs; my
playlist is full of dance numbers, romantic songs and motivational songs. So
start de cluttering your mind by doing little-little things and gradually your
mind will become an expert in receiving and transmitting only positive thoughts.
The third level of de cluttering is
removing all the negative people from your life. I know this is not a very easy
thing to do but believe me once you do it you will see a very positive
difference in your life. But who are the negative people? Negative people are
those who always complain about everything in their lives and are always
bitching about others. Well, I understand that as humans it is not possible to
always be in a positive state and not complain and bitch about others. Doing
this some times and only some times is fine but if someone is always cribbing
about everything and bitching about almost everyone and every time then just
beware of that person because then there are high chances that such person may
be bitching about you with others and is not your true friend. Now the second
thing how to remove them from our lives? Again I know that practically it is
not possible to just cut off from anybody but you can at least make an effort
to not get too much involved with them. Keep only “hi-hello” relations with
such people and do not make them your close group. Doing this may leave you
with lesser close friends but those will be your true, genuine and positive
friends. Having two true and positive friends is better than having twenty not
so genuine and negative friends. Remember that quality always prevail the
quantity. I have also done it and I don’t have many friends but those whom I
have are my true and positive friends and being in their company is always
bliss for me because they always feed me with all the good thoughts.
So I have shared my experiences and
ideas about how I have de cluttered my life and I really want all of you to
start de cluttering yours. You can start with one level at a time and as it
becomes your habit you can de clutter your lives on the three levels
simultaneously. Also de cluttering is not a onetime process; it is in fact a
continuous process which might seem difficult in the starting but as you keep
doing it, it becomes your lifestyle. Start de cluttering your life as soon as
possible and make it more beautiful and meaningful.
